Montreal, February 19th, 2008

[Concordia Campuses, Public Spaces & Eastern Bloc 7240 Clark Metro de Castelneau]

SHOW DATES: Feb. 29- Mar. 15, 2008

VERNISSAGE: [Mar. 15, 2008] Venue: TBA (see www.naccarato.org/sitespecific)

Works and performances will take place at varying times and places during Art Matters, located in and around the Concordia Campuses including the EV building, the Hall building, the Library building and Loyola as well as public spaces on and off the island of Montreal.

Several works will only be known through documentation (after the event has occurred), while others are experienced directly as works of intervention, creating awareness on such issues as gender, identity, HIV/AIDS, private/public space and the environment. And some works explore the reach of technology and its role as a social phenomenon to works which explore the organic interaction of used book stores.

The artists come from a wide range of Concordia programs including: Intermedia Cyberarts (IMCA), Fibers, Theatre, Dance, Studio Arts, Art History and Humanities.

Many of these works can also be seen again during our closing March 15, 2008, which will be taking place at two different locations. The first part will take place at the Eastern Block from 4pm-6pm and continue again at 7:30pm to 9:30pm at the Art Matters Closing Party.
